San Francisco · Be Right There

The first social network where everything in your feed actually happened.

BRT throws real events in SF. You show up, meet people, and tap phones with the ones you clicked with. The app is where those friendships live afterward.

You've tried the meetup apps. Now keep the friends you made.

The problem

More followers, more matches, more apps. Fewer close friends.

Every other app starts digital and hopes it becomes real. Most matches never meet. Most events are one-time encounters with strangers you'll never see again.

BRT flips it. We start in real life, and the app is what sticks around afterward: a small, verified circle of people you've actually spent time with.

How it works

Events first. App second. Always IRL.

  1. 01

    You show up

BRT hosts curated weekly events in SF: specific activities in real places. You don't need the app to come. Just a link or a flyer.

  2. 02

    You tap

Met someone you liked? Tap phones. That tap is the only way to add someone on BRT, so every connection is someone you've actually met.

  3. 03

    You live

The app opens for moments: confirm a plan, see what your circle has been up to, post about what you actually did. Then close it and go.

What makes it different

Not more features. A different kind of network.

IRL-only content

You can't post without a verified real-world interaction. No performance, no strangers. Just evidence of real life.

The tap is the friend-add

No follow button, no match, no like. You connect by tapping phones after spending real time together.

Small circles, not followers

No follower counts, no discovery feed, no algorithm pushing people you don't know. Depth over scale.

The app does the asking

BRT proposes the next meetup within your circle, with time, place and activity already set. You just say yes.

The app

Not a platform to live on. A record of actually living.

BRT is designed to be used as little as possible. There's nothing to scroll between real moments. Try the prototype and tap through the flow.

Profile
Who you are and your verified meetup history. Private, not something strangers browse.
Footprint
A personal map of the places you've been with people you've met. It fills in as you live.
Threads
Activity communities that unlock when you show up: Sports & Outdoors, Food & Drink, Arts & Live Music, Games & Indoors.

By design

What you can't do on BRT is the point.

  • Follow strangers. No public profiles, no algorithmic content from people you haven't met.
  • Post without showing up. You can't curate a version of yourself that didn't happen.
  • Add someone without meeting them. Tap phones or it doesn't exist.
  • Scroll forever. Your feed is only as big as your real circle and how often you all go do things.

Footprint

Your map fills in as you live.

Every pin is a real place, with people you actually met there. No live location, just where you've been. An empty map is an invitation to go do something.

Events

The event is the plan. The tap is the start.

Weekly, curated, specific. Not generic mixers. The kind of thing you'd do anyway, with people who showed up for the same reason.

  • Volleyball
  • Hiking
  • Wine tasting
  • Crab hunting
  • Board games
  • Live music
  • SF cool stuff

New events are announced to the waitlist first.

Who it's for

For people ready to show up. They just need a reason.

Newcomers to the city. Introverts who'd never walk into a volleyball league alone. Anyone tired of performative feeds who wants a running partner, a concert +1, or a real friend, not another match they'll never meet.
